My Little Zoo's products are mainly made from wood. Like all-natural products, you will see imperfections due to fibres, grain, and knots. No two items are alike and colours will vary due to the woods & stains used. Due to the rustic nature, you may see nails & screws that are meant to add to the feel of the piece. All wood decor pieces should be handled with care.
Most of our products are made to order, especially custom products. We do try to maintain stock when we can on our most popular items for a quicker turn around time.
How do I order a custom product?
All of our custom products have options for you to select during the ordering process on our website. Once your custom order is placed, we will send you a mock up and examples of what your piece should look like via email within 48 hours. This is where you can adjust or make changes before we begin to create your item. Once you have confirmed the mock up or examples, this is final. We will continue to make your custom piece and send finished pictures once complete.
Are your finishes non toxic?
On all of our children's toy products, absolutely!! The paint we use on our toy products are water based. Completely free of VOC's, lead, ammonia and harmful toxins. Even our coatings and sealants are all either water based or organic beeswax based.
What ages would you recommend your children's toys are suitable for?
This is a popular question we get a lot! All of our children's toy products are recommended for ages 3+ years. This is for the Toy Regulation section under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act that are mandatory safety requirements set for children's toys and products. Our wooden children's products are NOT meant to be used as teething products. However, all of our wooden toys and products are safe for your kiddos to play with under adult supervision.
What types of wood do you use for your products?
We use a variety of different types of wood including birch, oak, maple, pine, ply and MDF. We purchase our wood from locally sourced wood mills & local lumber shops right here in Ontario, Canada.
Do you offer free local pickup?
Of course! You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup! You have this option during checkout to select which pickup location you would like to pickup from. Please note, all products are made in our home at the Simcoe location and their may be longer wait times for pickup at our other two locations in Burlington and Milton Ontario as we deliver products there for pickup every 2 weeks.
Shipping Policy
You will recieve a shipping confirmation once your order is shipped. All items shipped have a tracking number that is included in the confirmation email. Please note there may be potential delays due to a high volume of orders, or delays in shipping due to the courier services we use or postal service. These shipping delays are outside of our control. Once your item is shipped it is out of our hands.
Refund & Returns Policy
All custom order sales are FINAL. If you have any questions, please email us prior to your purchase. We will not refund any monies for purchases for customers who have changed their minds or found a less expensive product somewhere else. If you do not notify us of a specific date you need the item delivered, we will assume it falls under our standard turn around timeline, listed under each product.
In the event that your order arrives damaged in any way, please email us ASAP with your order number and a photo of the item’s condition. We address these on a case-by-case basis but will try our best to work towards a satisfactory solution. Custom and personalized orders cannot be refunded or exchanged.
We hold no responsibility for items broken or damaged due to the customer's inability to install or hang items properly. Insurance is included in our shipping quotes and covers lost items only. All items are packaged appropriately for shipping purposes, and extended care is given to assure your item does not break during transport.
